This lesson provides an overview of the concept of energy at the microscopic level. If you’ve taken general chemistry, you will recognize it as a light review of the unit on thermodynamics. If you have not, it will provide you with the foundational concepts needed to make sense of the rest of the lessons. It does this through the lens of answering the following question: why do we have to eat such an enormous amount of food?
